right,

you can change these out for whatever you want, but this is what i recommend, and will give top performance and overclockablility

1. for the proccessor i would go with the e6600 as you suggested, best bang for buck as they say:

2. now for the motherboard there are two choices if i were building this:

the Asus P5W DH deluxe
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?Item=N82E16813131025

or the Asus p5b deluxe/wifi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131028

two of the best motherboards i think. both overclock very well and have lots of features. no looser imo

3. As for the ram, go for anything with micron chips, ( becuase they are guaranteed to overclock well) such as the following:

G.Skill 2gb DDR2 800 cl4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231065

Crucial Ballistix DDR2 cl4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146565

both are very fast at stock and provide plenty of headroom

that spec with a good hsf (tuniq tower, sythe infinty, ac freezer 7 pro) good psu of course, would get you to 3.6 no probs

don't hesitate to ask anything you want
