For seemingly no reason, my Gnet router suddenly stopped working. I am currently connected to the net 'sans' router.

I've tried reseting/unplugging then replugging and changing cables to see if it was a cable problem, but nothing

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you. :D

Most all equipment fails at one point in time, Buy a new one.

I've had this router for a couple years, so I was thinking that it might have just died. But with no moving parts, that seems like kind of a short lifespan.

Power, WAN and connection 1 are all green lit. There are two orange lights that I don't the purpose for. They are M1 and M2. M1 is blinking while M2 is not on. The weird thing is, my provider said over the phone that they could ping my router while it was connected, even though I couldn't get the internet to work on my end. Also, when I pulled the internet cable from my router, Windows suddenly announced that a cable is unplugged. I found it odd, that even though I can't connect to the internet, it still knows when it's plugged or unplugged.

So you think my best bet is to bite the bullet and go buy a new router? If that's the case, can anyone recommend a good (inexpensive) one?

Thank you.

Sounds like the router is working but you pc settting may be hosed.

From the command prompt ping "ping yahoo.com"

if you get a reply your dns or gateway is not set correct.

Also try pinging your gateway/router, if this works gateway problem.

I'll try pinging yahoo.com, but how do I ping my gateway/router?

When you get info for your port, the gateway will be listed. Depending on router default may be 192.168.1.1
