Been having quite a good long thread going about my new Core2Duo system (E6400) that I've built.

forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Gigabyte-965P-S3-E6400-OC-complete-newbie-ftopict214389.html

I'm seeing HUGE differences between the CPU temp as reported by hardware monitoring and that reported by Intel's TAT - around 30* diff between the two.

I'd appreciate it if guys with a Core2Duo (especially but not exclusively if you have an E6400 or E6300) could post their temperatures - One reported by say the BIOS and then one reported by Intel's TAT tools or similar.

I'd like to see what everyone else is getting to see how strange my results are.

I'm having like a CPU temp of 40 reported by a normal hardware monitoring tool and the BIOS but with Intel's TAT I'm getting a reported level of 70.

That makes me:

BIOS / Intel TAT
40 / 70

Please post your results too
Thanks :)

TAT: 20c idle, 37c load max.
RMClock: 32 idle, 47 load max.

TAT takes readings from different sensors than what SpeedFan or RMClock does.

Me being a cheap prick and living in Maine, it's about 64* F inside; though I think TAT is a little off. It's been about 10* F here all week - not factoring in 20mph winds.

So -12*C - no wonder your getting such good temps ;) lol.

Really.
Been thinking about building a plexyglass box, sticking my PC in it, and building a widow platform for it to sit on outside. My overclocks would resemble the outside ambient. :D
