sagetv audio playback problem

sagetv currently causes the audio to be out of sync. I set it up using the Realtek audio input and the show will play, someone will say something, and then it will be repeated again like an echo. This does not happen with the software that comes with my card. What could be causing this? Also, when I go to shutdown the program, it hangs and I end up having to terminate the process. Any ideas?
