Supporting xf -- but what about x2?

I have an old SOLTEK (SL-K890PRO-939) MB which, it says, supports the Athlon64/FX. I blieve the MB came out before X2 made it´s entrance, but can anyone tell me if it is supported by my MB with a BIOS update or anything?

didnt the x2's come before the FX gen? i thought they did. if it supports an FX cpu then it would be had to not support an x2.

No problem, I suggest you get an opty before they run out(especially the 170 or 165, those are great overclockers), because those also will fit in your mobo, and opty's are better in general, they are more durable and last longer

Ok..sooo..I need to get clarified what an "opty" is..? Sorry, kinda newbie on the hw side :?

Maybe. Maybe not. The RD is $230. You'd better hope you get at least that much for the stuff.
