CBS HDTV from Directv

I lost my CBS HD channel tonight.
Anyone else lose it or is it just a DirecTV malfunction?

You can get CBS HD (from NY or LA) and soon FOX as long as you live in
an OaO (owned and operated) CBS market. The OaO markets are most of the
major markets. I don't think Chicago is included in the list.

This is DirecTVs way of getting local HD into their subscribers without
breaking any local restrictions. As long as the market you receive your
CBS from is owned by the corporate entity, they don't care that you
receive a CBS broadcast from NY or LA.

Seems to be.

On the last bill I got from them it was itemized as:

Network: CBS HD Available w/Local or HD Pkg (no charge)

Works fine in Chicago, I have the locals package, not the HD and CBSE on
channel 81.

I have a waiver for the SD stations of the markets you mentioned.....and
they are NOT guaranteed that you will get them even if you do ask
DirecTV......you can only HOPE that your local station management will
allow it.

Well,that is great for you,but I do not live in the New York
area.......in order to get 'A' New York station I have to buy it from
DirecTV as I am approximately 2,884 air miles from that particular
DMA.OTA is good,but I think the theoretical limit is 160 miles?
