Hi,
I was looking to add a wireless router to my home network.
So far I have narrowed it down to either the Netgear WGT624
108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Router or the D-Link DI-624
Xtreme G Wireless Router. Both are 802.11g and have the
Super-G technology. From what it seems, it looks like the
Netgear has a better firewall. As far as performance and
range goes, I really haven't been able to find any good
reviews to compare them. I will be adding at least 2
ethernet bridges and 1 laptop to this wireless network.

If you are familiar with either of these routers, or any
other good 802.11g routers out there, please let me know
what you recommend.

Many thanks!

I have a Linksys wireless-G broadband router. Works like a charm. Covers my entire house with at least a good quality signal. It's fast enough to stream video to my sisters room which is 3 floors down (I'm on the 2nd story, shes in the basement.) I have had no compatibility problems so far, though I use all linksys products, they were one of the first G compatible products, well the draft standard of G, and I love new technology. No problems at all, I would recommend it but then again I dont really look at new routers and stuff because mine will last me for quite a while.

gothitbycar,

The Linksys products were the first I looked at since that
brand seems to be very popular, but that's when I noticed
that they don't have an Atheros-based product (Super-G).
Since those are supposed to be faster than regular 11g I
think I'm going for one of those. I'm not rushing to get
one though, so maybe Linksys will come out with a new
product by the time I'm ready to buy...

Thanks for recommending though...

i'd recommend whatever router you decide on, make sure it has WPA (wi fi protected access) so your network is as secure as possible.

The double rate G routers sound like a gimmick to me, most internet connections that you are using the router for are 0.5 Mbit (ie 200 times slower than the wireless link) and thus you'll see little benefit from them, unless you're primary wireless action is just for a LAN with no WAN applications.
