I have a client who has quite a few Windows 2000 Pro users that have
gimped their desktops with huge fonts, crazy backgrounds or mouse
cursors. We've locked them down from doing this again in the future via
a group policy but there are 200+ workstations we'd like to reset back
to factory defaults via a group policy. The XP machines are easy of
course, but I've tried doing the research on how to do the 2k machines.
Does anyone have some tips on how to do this on 2k? It appears to be a
registry thing that needs to be pushed via group policy. Is this
correct and if so, does anyone have a list of registry keys that will
get a 2k pro machine back to factory defaults from a desktop
theme/scheme perspective?

Thanks!!!!!

Some items can be enforced via Group Policy with most settings being under
user configuration/administrative templates. Beyond that I suggest you also
post in the setup_deployment newsgroup for ideas. You can find a lot of
registry settings by using a registry snapshot program to compare before and
after results on a test computer. Regsnap is free to try and reasonably
priced as shown in link below. --- Steve
