Cd to format harddisk

i need to reformat my pc harddisk with a cd produced from my laptop. can anyone help please?

Why not just use the windows install cd? During the installation, you will be given the chance to create/delete partitions and format.

thanks for the idea. the problem is i bought the computer with a pre-installed win7 home premium then after various problems installed win 7 pro hoping to solve the problems.this didn't help. now i find i can't go back to my original install. i had hoped to format and erase the complete disk as i feel there is maybe a virus lurking somewhere. thanks for your help anyway
