Hello, I installed the card on the mother board, but when I tried to install the software, it said I need to setup with a Standard VGA controller before I install the ATi software.

What do I do?

Do you have onboard video, or an old card? If so, remove the new card and boot with that. Then install the latest ATI drivers (Cat 7.1). Then add the new card to see if it sees the 1600.

I do not have onboard video.

I had a Geforce installed.
Step 1. I uninstalled the geforce drivers through device manager.
2. Shut down computer. took off card from mobo.
3. Installed ATI card.
4. Loaded Windows, got some Genuine issues, fixed now... I think.
5 Tried to run the disk(found new hardware could not find the CD)
6. Got the error. Setup could not complete the installation. Try installing a Stadnard VGA driver and then try again.

Are you suggesting I boot up without a video card, or put in the 5200?

Could you list the steps for me here? I did not comprehend well your first

When I go to DXDIAG it says AGP is unavailable, how can I fix this?

I had that I think on my sons PC. I uninstalled his 6800GS drivers in Add/Remove programs. But it turns out it uninstalled at least part of his nForce motherboard drives. I installed those again, and then added the video drivers I needed.

So try installing your mobo chipset drivers again, to whatever is the latest version you can find. Then add the video driver.
