you can remove the old fan relativly easily and splice in the new one to the old wires or even run the new fan wires out with the rest of the wiring harness and plug into a mobo header. Here is an example from driverheaven.net

pop it open, get access to the fan and remove the label on the fan and put a small drop of lube into the fan ball bearing area and let it work in and it should shut up the noisy fan
