PSU making a lot of noise

My psu is 4 years old, it just started making a lot of noise, is there any way to tell if it's going to give out on me, or maybe tips to help correct the noise problem.

Yeah it's definitely the fan making a grinding type noise, are there any solutions for this ?

Is it a standard rear fan unit like this?

you can remove the old fan relativly easily and splice in the new one to the old wires or even run the new fan wires out with the rest of the wiring harness and plug into a mobo header. Here is an example from driverheaven.net

pop it open, get access to the fan and remove the label on the fan and put a small drop of lube into the fan ball bearing area and let it work in and it should shut up the noisy fan
