More Information

Hello, everyone! I hope someone can help me with this problem!

I recently replaced my motherboard and CPU in my PC with an ECS 661FX-M7 v1.1 (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813135171) and an Intel Pentium 4 541 Prescott 3.2GHz (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819116231).

I kept my existing video card (ATI RADEON 9600XT) and sound card (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz), RAM (2x 512MB Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000), and drives (Lite-on DVD-Burner, 2 Seagate HDs).

I put everything together and then tried to reinstall Windows XP. Right at the part where it shows you the current partitions, the system reboots. It does this every time. I've tried unplugging my 2nd drive. I've tried plugging the 2nd drive in as the Primary Master and unplugging the original Master. It still does it.

I ran Memtest x86 from a bootable CD and tested my memory and saw no errors.

Does anyone have any suggestions??? It's driving me crazy. Windows will also reboot on occasion if I load my current install, but it doesn't do it every time like it does during the reinstall.

I am going to try to flash the BIOS for my motherboard tonight as there is an update on the ECS site. I am also going to try pulling out my Video Card and Sound Card to see what happens.

Any help will be appreciated!
