when ffd will be availible?

By the end of this year most surely, maybe earlier (we are beginning to see new LCD's coming out, so FFD should start being implemented soon).

<whiney consumer>Has there been anything which indicates how much ffd monitors might be? </whiney consumer>

the 171p looks pretty good to me now...I'm scraping together dollars to get one.

it really shouldn't add to the price b/c it's the controller ship that's different, not the panel.

I think you will see a higher price. Manufacturing cost is only one aspect...if FFD turns out to be as good as they say, they will mark up the price because people will buy it, being "new" technology. It will eventually come back down due to competition, but I think the early models will have a price premium...

Obviously, but in the long run, it won't influence prices really.

What's pva mean? All the acronyms getting thrown around, it's too hard for me to remember them all.

THanks,

PVA is Patterned Vertical Alignment, and is very similar to MVA.

I am also looking at the samsung 171p, in Canada. I had to ask, where are you finding that price? Are you buying over the internet? Thanks
