Hi,
After finding work do a purchase scheme meaning i can pick up an X6800 for £250, I've decided to take the plunge and upgrade with a mind to OC'ing.

X6800 (w/Tuniq Tower 120)
ASUS P5B Deluxe
OCZ 2x1Gb DDR2 PC6400 (platinum rev, 4-4-4-15, 1.9-2.0V)

http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Core2Duo-Overclocking-Guide-v1-ftopict197995.html

Complete OC noob so I'll be using this guide for the OC. Aiming for ~3.4Ghz. Can anyone see any probs with what i'm planning? OC aim ok? RAM ok? The guide says change the vDIMM to 2.1 or 2.2V... is that a prob for my ram- should i keep it at 2.0V and 4-4-4-15?

PS. other components pretty standard, 1900 XT (will upgrade that in a couple of months), Seasonic 600W.

Thanks! Appreciate your advice :)

With the Tuniq you should hit 3.4 with no problem. As far as the RAM goes. General rule of thumb; 2.2volts max for 24/7 operation. If you into overclocking RAM, you should have no prob getting that to 1000mhz 5-5-5-15 2t. IF you want to leave it stock, which is fine, you should be fine @ 2.0. Test it, and make sure your stable, if not bump it up to 2.1 after you overclock.
