I just bought a Creative I/O PCI Firewire card. I run Windows XP Home so the card should install automatically but it is not the case. Windows tells me it cannot find the software needed to install the PCI device. There was no driver CD in the box. Is the card simply defective or if I only need to find a driver on the web? I tried this last but did not find one. Can someone help me please?
Ok here is some more info from the manual:
-VIA (VT6306) single chip PCI hosst controller for IEEE 1394-1395 and IEEE1394a
-32 bit CRC generator and checker
-On-chip isochronous and asynchronous receive and transmit FIFOs for packets
-Support P1394A acceleration features
-OHCI Compliant programming interface
-32-bit power-managed PCI bus interface
-Integrated 400Mbit PHY
I hope it helps a little... Thank you very much for your help!!
Thank you very much. Unfortunately, it did not work. The problem is a little different, a pilot seems to be installed but I get a message like "the device can not start". The computer will freeze if I try anything.
Maybe the card is simply dead?
