i noticed a while ago that my system was running slow as hell. An AMD 4600+x2 was being outperformed by my 3200+. I reinstalled windows, and the same problem persisted. I noticed that the CPU usage was boucning around like crazy, this is with XP and a few drivers installed and nothing else as far as games and other stuff. I have recetly sent my CPU back to AMD for testing (i had to wait a while cause i was using the comp for class). AMD just got back to me saying that the CPU is fine. I also RMAed the mobo (which just arrived today, and i have to wait for the CPU to return).
my question is, does anyone know if the following hardware may have some compatability issues?
the hardware is:
Abit KN9SLI mobo
2GB (2x1gb) Corsair XMS 675 MHz
looking at the links, i think the problem is the RAM..the one i have runs at 675 MHz and not the supported 800MHz. Hopefully newegg will allow me to send it back and pay the difference for a 800MHz memory module.
now i need to ask myself why i didnt find those links sooner....
