Compatability between CPU, Mobo, and RAM

i noticed a while ago that my system was running slow as hell. An AMD 4600+x2 was being outperformed by my 3200+. I reinstalled windows, and the same problem persisted. I noticed that the CPU usage was boucning around like crazy, this is with XP and a few drivers installed and nothing else as far as games and other stuff. I have recetly sent my CPU back to AMD for testing (i had to wait a while cause i was using the comp for class). AMD just got back to me saying that the CPU is fine. I also RMAed the mobo (which just arrived today, and i have to wait for the CPU to return).

my question is, does anyone know if the following hardware may have some compatability issues?

the hardware is:
AMD 4600+x2
Abit KN9SLI mobo
XFX 7600gt
2GB (2x1gb) Corsair XMS 675 MHz

Thanks for the help

More about compatability mobo
  1. specs

    Processor Support

Make sure your bios is version 16 or later.

Otherwise, they're compatible. Oh, what's the model of the ram?
  2. looking at the links, i think the problem is the RAM..the one i have runs at 675 MHz and not the supported 800MHz. Hopefully newegg will allow me to send it back and pay the difference for a 800MHz memory module.

now i need to ask myself why i didnt find those links sooner....

    thanks for the speedy response.
  3. No problem.

The specs are misleading. I'm sure it'll work with slower ram. Just set up bios if necessary.

If you want ddr2-800 ram, maybe this:

    G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
    Original Price: $214.99
    You Save: $30.00
