Upgrading from a AMD 3500 to AMD X2 4800. Do I need to do more than swap CPU's?

Graphics 7800GT

Update your BIOS to the latest revision. That should be about it. Make sure you follow installation instructions properly (e.g., thermal grease application, etc.).

as aj said and you might install the x2 dualcore optimizer after
you get it installed.
