ok im buying a asus motherboard and it has SLI capability with 16pipes but i have a 20 pipe card can i still use my card?

I'm assuming by pipes you mean pipelines. Motherboards, with the exception of those with builtin video, don't have "pipes". Perhaps you would like to be more specific.

the descrition for the motherboard said this:

ASUS has created, in its A8N32, a motherboard that will support some serious tweaking. With support for 4GB of DDR RAM, two 16-pipe PCI-E links with SLI, and an 8-Phase power design

so i assumed when it said 2 16 pipe it meant the video card ciouldnt be more than 16 pipelines. maybe i just read it wrong.
