Ok so here is my rig.

e6600 OC'd to 3.2

2GB Dominator ddr2800

evga 680i sli

600w psu

At first I bought the nvidia 7900gs 256mb card and it ran fine, but I decided I wanted to get a faster card and sold it to my roomie.

So I just ordered the radeon x1950xtx 512mb gddr4 from newegg which will cost 339 after rebate, but I'm trying to decide...was this a mistake? I can get the nvidia 8800gts for $369 after rebate on newegg. Is this a no brianer? Should I get the 8800gts? It appears that I'd get slower gddr and slower core clock speeds, but it has so many more pixel shaders and it's directx 10. What do I do? PLZ HELP!!! I can't make up my own mind.

Yes, that was a mistake. For that kind of money, you should have definitely bought the 8800GTS.

for that difference in price go for the 8800.
if you can afford it incase the m.i.r. doesnt hold water.

allright I called newegg and ordered the 8800gts! yay

It was to late to just swap out...man they work fast...so I just have to refuse the shipment of the ati card, but i should get the 8800 tuesday. Thanks a lot everyone.

...mail in rebates suck hardcore :twisted:

Yeup, send it back for the GTS.
Just don't count on the MIR, they always get lost somewere in snail mail land.
