i 'upgraded' my monitor from a 17 inch sony trinitron multiscan cpd 200es to a flat screen 17 inch philips 107t. there was a special at staples, buy over $200 and you get a $50 discount instantly. the monitor also had a $50 mail in rebate. total cost of the monitor was 199.98 so i bought a pack of gum to make it over 200. got -50 and sent in the 50 dollar mail in rebate!

so i paid half price for the monitor. not including tax!!

should i have stuck with the sony? it still is good but about 3 years old. its almost flat too, but not a flat screen. i couldnt resist the deal. it has this feature called lightframe... makes images and movies brighter like TV.
