Info about new Intel Chipsets?

While there are complaints occasionally that the next generation of AMD chips won't plug in to 939 boards, the more interesting complaint is that although the chips *will* work in AM2 boards, that the chip in an AM2 board would be handicapped some.

While some discussion suggests this isn't much handicap, it does all raise a question.

Although Intel socket 775, like AM2, will take the next gen of chips (right?), what will be the handicap of using the chipset in the current boards, instead of buying the new "bearlake" etc. chipsets?

In other words, now that we had so much interesting discussion about HT on the AMD side, what about the Intel situation?

What are the drawbacks of current Intel boards when used for the coming generation?
