I just bought a Asus M2N-E SLI and a AMD Athlon X2 3800+ and 2GB DDR2 PC6400, and I can't find a way to enable both cores of my cpu.

when I run CPU Z it just says 1 core

and when I run PC Wizard and I go to the CPU stats it says 1 core is disabled.

how can I solve this problem?

Did you do a swap from a single core CPU and use your original Windows install to boot it up? If so you need to load the correct HAL.

Should be able to go into device manager expand Computer, right click what I'll assume says ACPI Uniprocessor PC and click update driver and follow the wizard - windows should detect it....hope that helps....

yes, it'r a brand new X2 3800+

and it cannot be broken

when I run PC Wizard it shows the following on the CPU diagnostics.

Number of Cores: 2
Cores Enabled: 1

device manager, under computer, I only got Standard PC. is that it?

Yes that's it and that's your problem....it should say somthing along the lines of ACPI Multiprocessor PC. Until this is fixed the OS will only recognize and utilized one core.
