The X1650pro is better. It's best to stay away from the other one (I dare not speak it's name), as some can be decent, but for the most part they're crippled pieces of $hit.

Just ask Prozac...he loves those other ones. :lol: :twisted:

Or to stay in the same price range, make it X1650 pro for ATI and a 7600GS for NV. Although a 350/1000 clocked 6800XT would keep up in many games, I'd still go with one of the the newer two if that were my budget.

I looked at the XFX 6800xt and it has a 256bit bus which in theory would make it twice as fast as a 128bit bus (x1650), is this true?

It's almost the case. The bitwidth it twice as much but the speed is 50-70% as much so it's only a small advantage at best, and often the same bandwidth.

Most GF6800XTs are 256bit, but some aren't;

Seems like the cheap ones are 128bit, so same bitwidth at half the speed = half the bandwidth. Even the one that's 500/1000mhz would be 70% the bandwidth.

Then add that to the inefficient cores, better of with something else, usually there are better solutions out there from both companies for the money.

This AGP HIS X1650XT for $150 after a mail-in rebate looks nice and juicy for AGP. IIRC, that slightly better than a 7600GT class card for a killer deal. Damn good deal considering the AGP 7600GTs are still in the $180 range.

Well prozac I assume that you have had a 6800xt, do you happen to have Age of Empires 3? If so does it run smoothly on high settings on this card?

To Prozac: Sorry to start that, but I couldn't resist. In an extremely sarcastic voice: After all, you always speak so highly of them. :twisted:

:p Despite numerous request letters to Santa, he still didn't get his 6800XT yet. Oh well, there is always next year.

Shoot, that's tempting. The $200 AR AGP X1950 pro's are the only thing keeping me from ordering that one. Considering it's an iceQ, I may still go for it.
