I'm having trouble finding what native resolutions the card supports vs. what resolutions the drivers support.
Should I have any concern buying this card for a new Samsung 226BW 22" monitor that was just released which has a native resolution of 1680x1050?
I plan on using the card and monitor for MMORPG's like Vanguard, the upcoming Lord of the Rings online and Conan, etc. so I hope the card combined with the monitor (2ms GtG) works well since it's my first step away from CRT's.
For the record, I'll have the 6700 quad driving the card.
Nope that card will be great You don't have to worry about the resolutions from the cards it depends more on the games themselves, if they support wide screen formate then you will be good to go.

Exactly
Just so the OP is aware I have a new Dell 22incher and an 8800GTX. They both work perfectly fine together.

Thanks!
It will work, but why don't you get a monitor with 1920x1200 instead? (I reccomend the dell 24" ). that way you'll be able to show HD at full res without any scaling.
I just ordered one of the dell 2405 FPW 4 weeks early since it is a birthday present, and "had to test it! " and I only have a 7900 gt (upgrading in the summer to 8800 gtx or newer) and threw a 1900 x 1200 background on there and man I was blown away! Can't wait! and highly recommended!

I hope you mean 2407 not 2405. Make sure you get the 2407fpw NOT the 2405fpw.
They don't make the 2405 any more. The 2407 is the new version of the 2405, and has HDCP support which the old 2405 doesn't. Meaning you won't be able to watch hi-def protected content on a 2405. I know, I have one.

Well, maybe out of ignorance, but I was worried that on a 24" with higher resoultion and slower refresh time that ghosting would start to become a problem.
I will be using this monitor for gaming and almost entirely gaming. I will not be watching TV on it, etc.
Samsung also has a new 24" I was eyeing that is coming out in end of Feb/March to replace the 244 (It's the 245) and it has a 6ms GtG but I like the 2ms GtG of the 22".
Do you think there will be much of a display difference in ghosting between the 24" and 22" if I use a quad 6700 or dc 6800 with a 8800GTX (single, not SLI) for gaming?
I don't mind giving the larger monitor a shot when it comes out I guess...and maybe buy the 22" since Circuit City just got them (when in stock).

my dell 2405 is 24" 1920x1200. I game hard with no sign of ghosting whatsoever.
Ive got the Gateway 24' FPD2485W Its fricking awesome! I intially bought the gateway 22' wide but I had to have 1920 x 1200 res much improved over the 22' so yes its worth the extra $300 for this one! $679 at BB off the shelf!
It's a jump in price from a 22", but I've been INCREDIBLY happy with my 2407 no ghosting or dead pixels (Sounds like a Newegg review, doesn't it?) I've heard good things about the Samsungs too. Those and the Dell use the same panels I believe

Yep, the dell 2405 uses a samsung panel for sure, so i guess the 2407 probably does too.
Actually I got the 2405 because it was cheaper and the reviews were better on the 2405. As far as HDCP goes we will have to see how long it survives before someone comes out with a work around. Also like Drunkgamer said, this monitor is just for gaming and so I am not worried about the HD content.
