Can I upgrade to Raid 1?

2.6C
Intel 865G
1G Ram
Matrox G550
WD 74 rpm10k
XP Pro

I want to add a raid card and add another WD74 and run it with Raid 1 since I have so many important data in it.

So, do I have to wipe out everything and do a clean install for the Raid 1 or there is some other way to just add the raid card and another HDD without reinstall the whole OS?

I haven't actually tried something like this in the past myself, but it is my understanding that, yes, it is possible, but can be a pain. You of course would want to do a backup of your data before attempting such a feat, and if you are backing things up anyways, it may just be easier and less time consuming to just flatten your current setup and start fresh with the raid.
