One of our work PC's is exhibiting some FUBAR behaviour...
Orig the sys was using onboard gfx (cheapo asus mobo), but as i found out at the time, i was the only person in Western Australia to find out that i cant run wide screen (19" Acer) with onboard. Yah, right, computer shop idiots.
So they gave me an ati 9250 card. It all worked fine.
Then i got a longer mon cable, ~3m, a good shielded one. It worked when i 1st pluged it in... after a day or so it would not detect the monitor and would not give WS resolutions :x :x :x
Swapped the cable, tried the dvi port, did all the usual stuff, no joy.
The orig cable works fine, but its too short.
Im thinking this sh!tty card isnt putting out enuf signal over a longer cable.
Any ideas muchly appreciated as usual.
Try moving the monitor closer to the tower of the PC, thus resulting in trying the shorter cord. If the shorter cord works, then the longer one you purchased is somehow Faulty i think.
