Anyone have any idea why I can remotely sync to my desktop over the Internet
and thru my firewall if I use a dialup modem on my PPC but when I try to
Wifi it from any access point out abd about I get connected but that's it.
The difference between the two would be with dialup your not natted but when
you use an access point at say the airport you are natted. I'm wondering if
the double natting on both the desktop and the PPC wifi is the issue.

Setup that works:

PPC using Pocket Host to map local desktop IP
Dialup modem
ISP/Internet
Router (Firewall)
Desktop Active Sync

Setup that doesn't:

PPC using Pocket Host to map local desktop IP
Wifi card, local open access point
ISP/Internet
Router (Firewall)
Desktop Active Sync

Do you have your Wi-Fi connection configured to use Internet or Work?

It is also possible that the wi-fi connection is firewalled and blocking the
ports you need.

PPC can Wi-fi just fine as I can browse, POP, etc and make the connection
back to my PC. Sure the various places I connect could be filtering/blocking
ports however it has not worked with a single Wi-Fi connection that I've
made so that would mean they are all blocking ports which I highly doubt.

That is why I wanted to hear from anyone who has got this to work or is it a
natting issue and I'm just screwed. Working on pulling my Exchange off to a
new server so it won't matter in the long run but I would like to know why
it doesn't work if for no other reason than I'm sure I will have a customer
ask to do this sooner or later.
