I ended up with this problem, and it might pertain to others having similar problems after installing the 8800 drivers.
This happened both with XP X86 and Vista X64:
After installing the 8800 drivers (any version for that card and operating system) I would get a BSOD after rebooting my system.
Turns out, that if I had my X-Fi (with drivers installed) in the PCI slot next to the PCI-e slot, I would get the BSOD every time. The only other PCI card I have installed is a Haugpauge PVR 150. Swapped the PVR card with the X-Fi and didn't get a blue screen again.
This happened on two different Mobo's as well (EVGA & DFI). If the X-Fi was in the PCI slot closest to the PCI-e slot, I would get a BSOD after rebooting.
If you are getting BSOD after driver installation and the 8800's, try removing any PCI devices and see if there is a conflict!
