I am about to buy a Sony HS510, i think. I notice that it, and most
other CRT cabinets are silver, and not black. Sony's XBR's have a
mostly black face, but those are about the only ones. Does anyone
with a direct-view CRT HDTV find the silver face distracting when
watching movies in the dark? See, i imagine me sitting in the dark
watching Star Wars or something, and while the screen is black with
space, i can see it framed by a silver cabinet. Whereas, if the
cabinet were black, the frame would more or less disappear, right?
and then i would feel more like i am "right there." Am i a freak, or
is there something to this? I would love to hear other people's
experiences.
