I have the 811 and have hooked it up to the Radio Shack VU-75 XR
($36.99) mounted in my attic. I live between Cincinnati (38 miles) and
Dayton (15 miles) Ohio. I pointed the antenna towards the Cincy towers
and receive all of the stations with a 75% signal or better. I even get
two Dayton stations also. I have been pretty happy with this receiver
so far. In a recent heavy rain storm, I was able to get the local OTA
stations while the satellite stations were offline. I had heard that
the OTA part of the receiver would not work if it couldn't see the
satellite but it appeared to be working for me (I guess it was possible
that one of the sat channels was still working, I didn't check them all).

I have an 811 receiver hooked up to a Zenith Silver Sensor indoor
antenna and it works well for me. I live about 33 miles from the
towers at Mt. Wilson in L.A. and I'm able to pick up KNBC, KABC, KCBS,
KTTV (fox), KTLA (WB), KCAL, KCOP (UPN), and KCET (PBS). My next step
is to try an antenna on the roof so I can pickup all the stations
without moving the antenna around.

I used antennaweb.org to determine the direction to point the antenna.
I chose my antenna based on the price and recommendations of other
people in this newsgroup.

I used www.antennaweb.org to figure out if I could get a signal in my
area and what type of antenna I needed. I've heard others on this
newsgroup rave about the Zenith antenna, so I decided to try it.
