hi
i'm trying to fix my friend's laptop and it seems that right upon startup it won't detect the hard drive. I went into bios and it wouldn't auto detect the hard drive either. She says that she didn't drop it or remembering the laptop sustaining physical damage. WHat should i do in this case?

so, laptop couldn't find hard disk or fell to bootup with c drive? go to dos and see if the drive is there.

nothing in dos-the mobo bios didn't pick it up and there isn't any separate hd bios either. so it's basically not there. And it clicks

I guess, it's time to replace the hard drive.
