So I just built my new system:

Evga 680i
E6300 OC'ed to 2.9ghz
8800gts OC'ed to 660 and 1010
OCZ Platinum ddr 800 2gig
seagate 320gig 7200rpm

Going to buy this monitor:

Now comes the delima. I am thinking about buying another 8800. Trying hard to decide if it would be worth it or if I am going to see a noticable difference in game play? Will my cpu bottleneck the video cards at 1600x1200, will my single 8800 run anything at 1600x1200 easy and not be much better for the extra 400 bucks? Where do you think my 400 dollar investment best lies?

EDIT: Haha fixed the part that I posted and said I was using a 6800 when actually I have a 6300 if you opinions have changed please let me know. Thanks!

Well, try the new monitor with your current card. If it's not running like you want it, then get another GTS. Your GTS should run everything at 1600x1200, but if it doesn't, then add another one.

Also, CPU is no bottleneck in any way.

I agree with prozac. Stick with one card and test the monitor. A single GTS still outperforms most of the single/dual card competition. And, IMO, if a E6800 is a bottleneck we are all screwed.

Edit: saw your edit. E6300 may bottleneck the GTX, but should do fine with the GTS. This will especially be the case if your overclock the E6300 (which it's very good at).

i sure hope that wouldn't bottleneck an 8800gts at 1600x1200. you should be able to run that card at ful res without too much of a problem. you most likely wont benefit from an sli'd gts until the new DX10 games are released which isn't for a while.
