Anyone see this? If this is indeed the case for the new mid-range cards... Consider an Ultra bought!

Details of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce 8600 series have been revealed, with the 8600 GT going for roughly $150 and the 8600 Ultra demanding a $180 pricetag...

...both 8600 cards being built with an 80nm process and 300 million transistors. The GT runs at 350MHz, with 256MB of RAM to call its own, while the Ultra sports a 500MHz core, with 512MB of memory.

Hopefully the 8600 Ultra will give a 7900 GTX or X1900 XT a run for its money...

...and it had better with 64 shader units.

If that is the case nVidia is about to make some more ka-ching off of me.

BTW which card is that in the snap? That tiny little thing more looks like a 6/7600 series board with a wacky looking HSF on it. One would assume it's the lesser 8600 GT...

Anyone see this?

Yep, old news.

Even the Guru3D article endgadget quotes is from the middle of last month (took them 2 weeks to write and article about it? )

The GF8600 series does look interesting, but like the 8800, not easy to translate performance based just on specs.

Should make the $150-200 range interesting.

They look good for $200, but most important

they will bring down the 7900GTX/GTO/7800GTX/7950 prices down.

Most important, as they will make a great choice, they will bring down the prices of the current 8800s too :D

Just hope this all this real and not some fake info

I'd cry if it was fake. :\
I need a new video card, and this would be a Godsend.

For what I play the 7600gt is enough but you know how it is, you always want something better and faster anyway. I am actually waiting for the 8600 ultra to come out so we can see how it stacks up.Yeah, definitely.
The price is fantastic for me. Hopefully these specs will make it to RTM and we'll finally have the mid-end an affordable card.

Is that image from Engadget suppose to be a GF8600 ? It looks short and I see no power connectors. I would be interested to see how it performs as I have been holding off getting a Radeon X1950Pro to see what nVidia would be releasing.

The new 8800 320Mb is nice but my budget would not stretch that far.
