Hi,

i'm using max 8 and an agp8x nvidia 980xgl video card.
This card is a quadro4 and is very good but now 3dsmax9 has a D3D driver instead of the 3dsmax8's old opengl based , and so i'm asking if it's of some sense to buy an nvidia fx4500 or 5500 for a monster-price or buy a much cheaper d3d card ??? I couldn't find any D3D benchmark for a quadro card vs a recent "D3D gaming" card .

Anyone can help me ???

Is this comparison right? (hopefully yes...)

thanks for help

Welcome to the world of OpenGL

First of all, a quadro FX 4500 will render like no one's business, but it's expensive, and not that great for gaming. So, yeah.

I'd recommend a Quadro FX 3500 at most, but the 1500 is a good card and I think they might make the 1500 in an AGP interface, but I could be wrong. Anyways, hope this helps.
