I was attempting to put together a system for light gaming, fully acknowledging that I'll probably have to upgrade the graphics card within the next year. Here is what I built for just over $1000. I plan on overclocking the CPU. Comments welcome...

Good power supply but if you will want to upgrade video or add stuff you might want to get something bigger.

For cooling get the Arctic Freezer Pro 7, half the price, cools just as well. If you won't be overclocking the the stock cooler will be fine.

The Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 is much cheaper at ChiefValue.com. Newegg raised its price on this item from $29.99 to $49.99 last week.

You may not need DDR2 800 memory if you are using the E4300 and overclocking. Everyone says that you can use DDR2 667 rather than DDR2 800. Might save you some money. I had to send an email to Gigabyte to find out if the memory I was looking at was compatible with this mobo (I have the same one), because their website compatibility chart is very sketchy.

G. Skill has a forum on memory compatibility with specific motherboards, and have created a sticky specifically for this Gigabyte one, so I'm pretty confident (we'll see though). Went with DDR800 just for the sake of potential future processor upgrades...was pretty cheap at $185 anyway.

I don't plan on using multiple video cards, so hopefully my power supply will hold up for awhile (Ranked as Tier 2 in that guide). I like the Zalman cooler becuase of the parallel allignment of the fan to the NB. I plan on getting a clear side panel for my case, so it'll be set up to push air from front to back (also just purchased rear 120mm fan for exhaust).

Now for a silly question. I'll probably be using an HDTV LCD TV as my primary monitor for a while. It has VGA and HDMI inputs. Should I connect my PC to it using DVI-to-HDMI or DVI-to-VGA? The display has a native resolution of 1366x768. Thanks!
