As stated in the subject header, I currently own a Socket 478 Abit Motherboard, model BD7II-RAID.
I currently have a P4 1.6ghz in it but I wanted to upgrade.
Assuming it would support it, I went out and bought a 3.06ghz processor, only to find the board would not support it.
So two questions, does anyone know the maximum speed processor this board supports so that I can buy it? I've heard of people running a 2.4 on it but not higher than that.
The other question is does anyone know of a BIOS upgrade that would allow you to run a 3.06ghz on this board? I have the latest BIOS for the board, but it's from 2003, very old.
Alternatively, does anyone have any recomendations for a cheap S478 motherboard that does support 3.06ghz?
