DDR2 RAM Upgrade

Hey guys,

I am going get some new DDR2 800 RAM for a new gaming rig coming in.
The problem I have is I am not a RAM expert and want some nice RAM for OCing the system below:

C2D E6600
8800GTS
ASUS P5N-E SLI Mobo
250GB WD HD

I am looking not to go too much higher than $225 US Dollars.

I was looking at some of the RAM below (I believe most use PROMO chips). Hoping someone can find some nice Microns for cheap

Also, what is the difference between PROMO chips and Epilida (obv. Micron is the best)?

I clicked on four of your links and all returned a "this page does not exits" screen. You might want to recheck your links.

As none of your links work, nobody can comment on the products. What we can say is that unless you are going to OC the CPU further than 3.0ghz, anything faster than DDR2-667 is a waste of money, and if you plan never to OC, DDR2-533 runs at the same fsb as the cpu at stock.

I was looking to go with either the SuperTalent, G Skill or Patriot.
I know that OCZ requires high voltages and that Corsair has been using Promo chips mostly in their XMS and Dominator lines.

I've got A-Data DDR2-800 512 sticks. It fits the P965 criteria, and ran fine @ 4-4-4-12 @ 400 mhz. I have them @ DDR2-900 right now with the timings loosened to 5-6-6-20.

Surprised the hell out of me how nice these "no name" stick work. 8O

Hmm yea I was looking at those as well.

I saw that newegg orig. had these listed as Micron chips and then took that off.
Are these Elipida chips just like most of the other ones?

How do they OC?
The reason I ask is bc I was rdy to get the SuperTalent ones and then I heard they dont use Micron chips anymore and due to that dont OC very high anymore.

They are elpida but apparently this is fine:

"It is true that the Mushkin Elpida is still not quite as fast as the older Micron DDR2 memory at lower DDR2 speeds, but the difference is very small. However, at higher DDR2 speeds, the Mushkin XP2-5300 actually performs a bit better than the legendary Micron DDR2 chips"
