okay. i know the intel core duo's give me more battery life, but does anyone know just how much?

also, what's the performance difference between the two processors, assuming both are dual core, 2.0ghz

Assuming you mean Core Duo and not Core 2 Duo...

The Turion (X2s) are 64-bit capable, the Core Duos are not. The Core Duos will give slightly more battery life. At the same clock speed, the Core Duo will be a little bit faster, but not noticeably in most applications.

yep, and the turions tend to have better graphics setups than the core duos(duos come with intel's integrated, turions come with ati's mobility series-some really good like th x1600 and up - and some with nvidias geforce go 6600) both which outperform core duos intel integrated.

The integrated Turion graphics are still very slow, and the Core Duo's power advantage is such that a Core Duo laptop can be equipped with a discrete video card for the same power budget as the Turion with integrated graphics.
