I heard the prices were going to drop on intel around may or so because AMD is releasing a new proccessor or something, so I am planning my build now! :)
Generic DVD Burner

NZXT Full Aluminum Tower

WD Raptor 36.7 GB HD

eVGA Geforce 8800GTX

Thermaltake Toughpower 700w

Corsair XMS 2GB RAM

eVGA 680i MB.

Monsoon II Cooling

Intel E6600 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo

Priced at a lttle under $2000 before taxes.

I have two questions. Does anyone know when the price will drop significantly, and will the geforce 8900GT outperform the 8800GTX?

Also, is the next generation ATi card worth taking a look at? Thanks guys!

You only need lightscribe if your too lazy to use a sharpie marker to write the names of the discs. I would make a few changes though:

CPU cooler: Drastically overpriced, good watercooling setup for that price:

Harddrive: if you really want a raptor, then go for this:

Or the 150GB series for 200. For backup and storage, go for this:

Little over 2000. But I guarrantee some great performance out of it. Especially with the watercooling = big overclock.

With your question to the 8900GT > 8800GTX? You've seen the 7800GTX, and then the 7900GT. It'll basically be the same thing most likely, maybe the 8900GT a little faster but more important I would say is the fact that its hopefully smaller in length. And yes, Ati's series is worth waiting for seeing that its only coming onto shelves in a couple weeks. Then statistics will be done up to determine which is a better buy and for how much.
