Hi,

A month and a half ago I bought a Sapphire X1650XT 256MB and now it doesn't work anymore. It performed good until 2-3 weeks ago when it started showing corrupted images (not in games but in windows too) with coulour artifacts even if beyond these artifacts I still could guess what I had (mouse, icons, windows). I didn't react and now it displays these artifacts all the time( even on the boot screen) and it even blocks my PC.

I posted a topic on the Sapphire forum but no answer there.

I looked over the net for similar issues and saw that the new 1650XT has heating problems with very high operating tmps and they changed the cooler with a Zalman VF900.

The question is: do you have any advice for me?

I must mention I haven't OCed the card...

I looked at it a little bit closer and I saw that the heat sink is not quite "glued" to the mems or the GPU... Is it possible that the card was delivered with no thermal paste applied? I didn't take off the stock cooler because I loose my warranty.
