I think newegg's just got a pricing error (or is trying to take advantage of newbies).

I don't think it is a pricing error on the part of Newegg. Most US sites that still charge a reasonable price are out of stock. I suspect this is because so many people have said how good it is for the price. Newegg wants to reap the benefits, ie cash. For now at least, it is no longer such a great deal. Glad I got mine a while ago.
