I got my Sony HD300 set up and it works great with OTA HD programming.
Although I didn't order the HD package, Six Feet Under is supposedly
broadcast in HD but my HD indicator on the Sony never comes on indicating HD
signal presence.

Have gone thru the receiver setup and all three sats are present w/excellent
signal strength. Is there something I am missing?

I have the oval dish with triple LNB's. Signals show to be good on all three
sats.

Is HBO HD showing in your program guide? I think channel 509 and also
showing on one of the lower numbers. There are separate HBO HD and SD
channels. Only one of the HBO channels is HD.

I see. There is no free HD programming available from satellite?

I guess its mislading when they preface channel 501 broadcasts with the
"available in HD"

OK, my bad on this one, yes ch 509 is available and looks great and comes in
best as 480p. I guess this was another user education issue. Are there other
HD programning that is included with the HBO package? I did not opt for
their HD package for the relatively limited programming they offered.

thanks
Mike
