EVGA 680i Dual Channel Memory Configuration Question

Hello,

I couldn't find a previous thread on this matter so I'll ask my question:

I have a 680i motherboard with 2x512mb DDR 2 800 Patriot RAM. I would like to buy 2x1Gb RAM with the same specs from the same manufacturer. This will give me a total of 3Gigs. Will this be a problem for Dual Channel as long as I have the 512's paired and the 1Gigs paired?
