:?: Does anyone use the Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 rev 2 motherboard with the Zalman 9700LED cpu cooler? The motherboard has a heat plate on the back that prevents installation of the Zalman dock plate. Does anyone know how hard it is to remove the CrazyCool heat plate from the back of the board. Is it just screws attaching it?

I'd like to know before I purchase the CPU cooler and it would save me time asking rather than taking apart my PC and removing the motherboard. I'll have to do that once the CPU cooler gets here so I'd rather not do it twice. Thanks for the help.

Edit. Also does this fan block anything on the motherboard? Is it totally compatible? Thanks.

I got it working fine. I bought longer screws. I had to match the width up and get a little longer length. But it worked.

Sorry I don't have any pics. I think the screw was #40. It's the thinest screw they had. It was 1 inch length. I went to Home Depot.

I could not fasten the Zalman retainer clip on the bottom as there was no screw that was thin and long enough. The screws I bought were thick enough to make a very tight fit when screwing them into the support mount on the underside of the motherboard so its not loose at all. If you want the bottom bracket screwed on, you'll need to drill a little bit thicker hole into the support mount and the retainer clip. Then buy the next size screw. It had a length of 1 1/4 inch.
