Ok so i was building a new computer and i was looking at spending 800. That quickly turned into 900 then 1000. So anyway i dont really have a limit but i wanna get the best bang for my buck and i dont wanan have to upgrade video or processors in a year. So i dont really have a limit but i dont wanna go overboard for what im doing. I wanna play ocassional games on the computer. Getting ready for the LOTRO which isent to graphics intensive. Also would like to play all the new games on max settings. like half life. Fear. Driving games. Anyway heres what i came up with. With the OR's plz tell me which and why. And plz dont just say the better 1 i want the 1 thats right for me.

E6600 vs the E6300. Do i really need the better 1 for the extra 100 bucks. Im not doing anything visual design. occasionally burning a dvd. juts online and video games.

1950xt w/516 mb vs 7900 gs. I found a version of the 7900 gs with 600 mhz clock and 1600 memory which isent in incredible less then the xt for 100 bucks. But it also has half the memory. is the 1950xt worth the extra 100-150?

GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard, No overclocking at all fiqured this is an ok board.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250620A 250GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM

Rosewill RP550V2-D-SL 550W SLI Ready-ATX 12V V2.01 Power Supply - Retail is this enough?

And i already bought 2 gig of G.skill 800mhz ram. If some1 could give me advice right away id like to order tonight. I dont wanna have to upgrade for awhile and play every game on max settings. Not oblivion cause i already beat that. Thank you in advance.

The amount of memory in a video card is to say the least "relative". You can compare 2 identical video cards one with 256 Mb and the other with 512 Mb and in some games the difference perhaps would be between 1 to 5 fps, and sometimes the one with 256 mb can achieve a bit of advantage (fps wise)against the 512 Mb one.

The real reason to expend the least on a video card is that computer gaming is turning towards directx 10, that is that newer video cards are going to be more efficient, they will do more with less (power, hardware) because of the unified shaders or multi purpouse processors in them, which is a very logical approach, that is each processor inside the chip of the video card is assigned a task according to what is needed depending on the game or the current action.

Wait until february(expected) for ati cards or march for nvidia mid range and low range directx 10 cards.

Or buy an 8800 GTS

Ok im gonna go with the E6300 because i was reading on this site it overclocks very easy and very stable. I got a GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 motherboard. im gonna get a crappy video card for now. Maybe like a 7900gs. my question is. Ijust got the G.skill ddr2 800 2 gb's. and it said something in overclocking. has to do with speed. im not sure im going to ask more questions when i get it completed. but is this ram ok for overclocking? and also what powersupply should i get. Im going to use a high power Video card 1 hard drive 1 Cdwriter. and 2 gigs of ram. And overclocking 1 step up. I think it was 2.45 ghz. then maybe bump it up in the future.
But what is a good PSU and cheap. Most bang for the buck? i dont wanna spend 100 bucks on a psu honestly.
