Intel CPU Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz 1066FSB LGA775 4MB
PNY Quadro® FX 1500, (256 MB) PCI Express
Asus P5B-E Plus
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
OCZ Ultra 5+ Silver Thermal Paste
4GB OCZ® Platinum Series 2GB DDR2 PC6400 800Mhz, Dual Channel Kit with Platinum Heatspreader
150 GB Western Digital Raptor SATA 10K rpm 16MB cache
Antec SLK3000B Matt Black Midi Case 4x5.25" 3x3.5"
Antec Truepower Trio 550W TP3-550 PSU
Samsung SH-S182M Black DVD+/-R/RW RAM DL 18x Lightscribe
Microsoft Windows XP Pro 64
Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard and Optical Mouse PS/2

I've been researching for ages, but I'm just not sure about a couple of things, would someone be kind enough to offer some guidance? I will certainly be posting up benchmark results and various other info you guys would be interested in seeing.

1) Which Mobo is better?

Asus P5B-E plus
OR
Gigabyte GA 965P-DS4?

They both cost about the same, what I want is stability and performance rather than loads of features. I want to overclock on air, hence my upgrade to the Arctic Freezer Pro HSF.

If the two I suggested do not serve my purpose, do you have any recommendations?

2) My choice of power supply, there are just so many out there, is my choice overkill or perhaps incompatible, PCI-E power connectors etc?

3) Case any good?

I'm quite excited about these, I'm actually building two identical.

Thanks for your time peeps.

- The Quadro is not a gaming card, just to make sure.
- Good choice of PSU and case
- What is the high performance hard drive for? A Seagate Barracuda or Western Digital 7200 RPM serves better most needs-> high capacity.
- I don't know about that specific motherboard, though it is most probably a good choice, but from what I have read I would blindly reccomend Gigabyte DS3 and ASUS P5N-SLI-E for most builds.
- Why XP Pro 64?

- Yes Quadro, because it's being used for CAD, 3DS Max and VectorWorks
- High perf HDD, was just thinking about rendering times and writing to disk (am I talking nonsense :? )
- I'm leaning more towards the DS4 now, been reading, and heard OCZ RAM and Asus MoBos don't mix!
- XP Pro 64 because I'm sticking 4GB RAM int he machine

Answers make sense?
