Mr George,
Follow these instructions. Hope they are helpful for you.
Goto Desktop Active Sync's "Tools->Options"
Click the button "Configure..." at the lower right corner.
Select Inbox from the list and click on the "Settings..." button
Now you can find a checkbox to "Include file attachments:" and another "Only
if smaller than:" to limit the size of it.
Thanks,

Dear Sir:
I have the same problem as George described. However, I don't use
Activesync... I am connecting via WiFi to various ISP's. The error
message I get is "unable to add attachment, check storage card
properly inserted". Any ideas?
thanks
Tim

There is a "Store attachments on storage card" check-box in the "Storage"
tab @ Accounts -> Accounts... of Messaging, which is self-explanatory.
Unchecking it should solve your problem.
