Hi! I need a strong wireless router, the reason is that in my room my phone (wireless 5.8 GHZ handset) can't get the signal from the base upstairs which is in my parents room. So I'm thinking, if I put a regular wireless router in my room it needs to be strong to penetrate our thick walls.

Is there such a router?

TIA!!!!

just bought a router that has a detachable antenna and install a 9db boost or greater antenna (or build your own)

I don't understand what you are trying to do.

What does the router have to do with your wireless phone?

he is saying he is concerned cause the wireless phone dosn't get signal in his room

that wifi will not either.

perhaps he should look at some of the MIMO offering?

external /high gain / directional Antennas may be worth considering...

my vote would be buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Turbo G High power router

w/ DD-WRT firmware installed.

But he says he is putting the router in his room, too.

Where is the DSL modem?

Where is the router? (is it the same device as the DSL modem?) Is he even using DSL?

Where is the computer?

There are signal boosters and high gain antenna that can be used (but not with MIMO as far as I know).

router for phone? Er router is not for phone. WHy don't you manually use a fish tape and make a new line through your house wall to your room.
