Yes, DDR2 675 will run on the DS3. How do I know? Because thats what I have on my DS3 lol. It posted on the first shot and I just ordered another 2GB kit or corsair xms2 ddr2-675. Newegg has a mail-in-rebate and significant price drop on the corsair ddr2-675 (xms2 series). Its listed for $179 and after $30 rebate its $149. Considering I bought a 2GB kit almost 2 months ago they were $200 (not including rebate), I quickly snatched another pair. If you go with the ddr2-675 with corsair order quickly, it did show out of stock 2 days ago and a new shipment arrived earlier than it said. The rebate ends tomorrow, but check to see if another mail-in-rebate starts after it.

Good luck!

I thought you were looking at the DS3 motherboard? The ddr2-675 will work on the Gigabyte DS3. Hmmm I was looking at a motherboard similiar to yours (945d) some say ddr2-667. I would suspect that 675 might not work.....you could check intels website on motherboards and get a thorough look. Core2duo motherboards will support ddr2-675 (FSB 1066/800mhz processor must be installed for 667 and 800 to be enabled---reading from my mobo's manual.

Basically the gigabyte ds3----yes 965P
945 Id seriously check and double-check---I have my doubts

the DS3 is great and easy to install and works like a charm :)
Remember for the DS3 to post memory on first shot make sure the voltage of the ram sticks are 1.8v (see manual). Then again the 675 sticks posted for me without a hitch.

i've read that any motherboard that supports 667 will work with 675, its just a couple of ram manufacturers way of being different. I was also wondering if my motherboard would support the core2duo processors, it doesnt say it on the box but other motherboards with the same chipset work with core2duo so i figured mine might as well.

To anyone who can sort out my confusion, you help is appreciated

Mobos that have Socket LG775 allow you to use C2D processors. If you do a mobo search on newegg.com...check LG775 socket and make sure it says supported processors C2D
