I originally posted this message in the OC general discussions but a few days passed without an answer so I thought I would see if I had better luck here.
This is my first time OCing and I think I have done a fairly decent job. I have managed to OC the e6300 to 2.7 with temps only hitting 40 and 42 idle and 49 and 47 under load. However, when pushing my system to 2.9 or greater, the computer restarts itself a few times and then defaults back to the original fsb. I have been running torture tests using dual instances of prime95 to test for stability each time I raise the FSB. I am using 1GB of G.Skill DDR2 667 (pc 5400). I am assuming it is my memory that is holding me back. Also, the timings on the memory are set at 5-5-5-15 and 1.8v. Is there anything that can be done about tightening my memory to allow me to achieve 3.0 without having to buy DDR2 800? Anyone else have any more recommendations about what can be done with the current setup? I have done some slight OCing to the 7600GT already. I have followed Wiz's guide to accomplish this and my settings are as follows:

Advanced BIOS:
disable CPUID Max 3
disable non-execute memory protection
disable C1E
disable TM2
disable E1ST
disable Virtualization Technology

PC Health Status:
disable smart fan control

M.I.T:
cpu clock ratio x7
cpu host frequency at 386
PCI Express frequency at 100 MHz
Disable CIA2
System memory multiplier at 2
DRAM Timing 5-5-5-15
DDR Overvoltage control +0.2v (2.0v)
FSB Overvoltage +0.2v (1.4v)
(G)MCH voltage +0.1v (1.55v)
CPU Voltage at 1.275v
